Materials Needed:

• Index cards
• Paper
• Pen or pencils

Playing Time: 45-60 minutes

How to Play:

1. Select a number of categories that are relevant to your group of players, such as home, work, kids, entertainment, cars, vacations, relationships, sports, and so on.

2. Write the categories on each index cards.

3. For each category, collect some anecdotes that relate to each topic and that are personal to the group.

4. Use those anecdotes to write five answers related to a topic on individual index cards. For example, if the category is "kids," you might write, "This little boy got a marble stuck in his nose" or "This child sold more scout cookies than the rest of her troop." Keep track of the questions on a separate sheet of paper.

5. Place five category cards on the table of floor in a row where everyone can see them.

6. Under each category, place the index cards with related answers, facedown, to complete your game board.

7. Have the players take turns choosing a category. Begin with the first index card under that category. Read the information on the index card, and ask the players to give their answers in the form of a question. If the player gets the questions right, he or she keeps the cards and plays again.

8. Continue playing until all the questions are gone. Or set a time limit on the game, as in the TV game.

9. Award a prize to the player with the most cards.

Variation:

Instead of personalizing the game, use a variety of questions and answers on general topics.

Take instant photos of each guests as they arrive, and give them a prop to hold as a clue. Then read off the crimes and have the players try to guess from the mug shots who is guilty.

4. Shuffle Team 1's cards and place them in a pile. Do the same for Team 2's cards.


5. Have Player 1 from Team 1 pick a card from Team 2's pile and read the topic aloud. That player gets thirty seconds to argue his or her side.


6. When Player 1 is finished, have the group rate the argument on a scale of one to ten, ten being a good argument, one being poor. If the majority agrees that the argument was good, Player 1 gets a point.


7. Continue until every player has had a turn. Make up new topics if you don't have enough, or use the topics more than once.


8. Award a prize to the player with the most points. If there is a tie, have the tying players argue a point against each other, and have the group award points for the best argument.


Variation:


Read the topic question, and have everyone write a short argument for or against it. Then have them all read their statements, and vote for the best defense. Or divide the teams based on age or political beliefs.

Materials Needed:

• Index cards
• Paper
• Pencils, 1 for each player

Playing time on this one of the best party games for adults ranges from 30-45 minutes.

How to Play:


1. Before the game begins, write down a series of personal questions on index cards, such as "How much do you weigh?" "When was the last time you had s*x?" "Who's your favorite movie star?" "What food would you refuse to eat?"


2. Put the stacks of cards in the middle of the play area.


3. Have the players pair up with other players they think they know very well. If you invited couples, let them play together.


4. Distribute paper and pencils.


5. Have one player pick a card from the pile and read the questions.


6. Tell each couple that one of them must write down the answer, but keep it hidden from the rest of the players.


7. Go around the room and ask the other players to guess their partners' answers out loud. After each guess, have the players hold up their answers to see if they match. If so, the couple gets a point.


8. Continue playing, taking turns between the two players in each couple, so everyone has plenty of chances to demonstrate how well they know their partner. When everyone has had enough, count the points and award a prize to the couple with the most points.


Variation:


Have one player select a card, read the question, and have all the players write down an answer. Then have the player guess everyone's answers, one at a time.
