You don't have to be a historian to like this party game. All you need is some basic information of well-known works of art.
Materials Required:
1. Collect an assortment of famous art reproductions from the library or from the net. Pick out 12 to 20 prints. If the images are in books, copy them, using the color copier if you can, and glue or tape them onto construction paper.
2. Cover the name of the artist and the title of the print.
3. Hang the images along the walls of the party room, like an art gallery exhibit.
4. At the game time, give out paper and pencils.
5. Have the participants enter in the gallery, examine the prints, and try out to identify them, writing down the answers.
6. After all the players have written their guesses, disclose the answers. Give points for correct names of the artist or print, dates and other facts.
7. Give a price to the player with the most points.
Variation:
For an easier variation, list the names of the artists on large individual name tags, and position them beneath the prints-erroneously. Have the participants try to match up the correct names with prints.
